The posts begin....

Rumor has it blogs are good to keep everyone in the loop at once.  No offense, but I'd rather chat with everyone about the usual topics than me.  I am not exactly a very public person in general so it's a shock to be a diva for some time.  Around the hospital though, I am not shy whatsoever.  So maybe this will be a turning point in over coming shyness.

If you are reading the blog you know what's going on.  I have not google'd ALL type Leukemia so I will not be the source of answers for you.  I will stay in the ignorant bubble until I decide it's time.  So if you have questions about the medical side, I can refer you to my amazing parents.  I know two things:  it will be a tough road and there is a CURE.

I have started chemo and so far things are going well.  I haven't had any side affects, and truthfully my complaints at this time are no less than your own.  I have a back ache from over relaxing and I'm tired because I have a lot of stress at this time.  But really, I feel better than I did a week ago.

A lot of people are curious how I found out and what made me seek medical help.  It all began with a bruise.  Then it multiplied.  I felt tired too.   Sorry to scare but that was it.  It was progressively getting worse so none of you need to run to the doctor for the bruise on your knee or anything.... but please do keep yourselves healthy.  Selfishly I want visitors and if you sniffle, I will have to kick you out.

In general I feel like the guy on the Verizon commercial with amass of people behind him.  I have nurses (aka Angels), a main doctor, an assistant doctor, a team of interns, residents and attending doctor.  I will never be neglected that is for sure.  They are very respectful of my privacy and are all a pleasure to have around.  Some for support others since it's simply amusing to watch.  I will come out with many funny stories.

Beyond the staff, my support system is... priceless.  I will never be able to word how much people have warmed my heart this past weekend.  I am blessed.  People have charmed me down to the slightest ways.   You are all amazing people and I am thankful every hour, minute...

Well, that's all for now.  I will be tuning back in some other time, until then rock n' roll.

Trina you crack me up... I picture you now when those Verizon commercials come on! You have America's greatest network. lol
I will be out of town this weekend visiting the bf so I can't come when everyone else visits again this weekend :( BUT if you wanna feel like I'm there, make some intern nurse (who needs bed-side manner practice) feel extra awkward on pupose :) ...and then maybe just laugh haha Gotta make yourself laugh somehow!I'm excited you can blog to all of us so we don't have to individually bother you daily when you're tired!... unless you want me to... and then I'm all over having the title of most annoying!!(if I don't have it already)
See you soon! Love you! <3 Hlad

Hey lady! I was gonna visit you before I left for NOLA Friday, but it seems that I am a walking germ or virus. . :-/ I had an ear ache like two days ago and it seems to have been an infection spread to my throat and nose. But enough about me- I am glad to hear that you are feeling well. I'll see you soon enough, though! Soak up the relaxation and make some friends with some cute doctors :-D (don't tell Ross I said that). xoxo love you. <3 Paula

Hi Trina!
Its Marilyn, It sounds like you are doing pretty awesome so far! Thats great! I would come see you if it wasnt 2000 miles away:( But then again, would you give me a dirty look and start crying and go hide in your bedroom for 1 hour with you ratty blanket and pacifier? You probably dont remember that display- but I got it pretty much every weekend from a little blond curly Q for quite some time. HA! It makes me laugh to picture it.. I am sending all of my luv and postive vibes girl! Keep on rockin in the free world! Hugs,
Mare

Thanks for the comment Mare - I do recall my melodramatic performances... I could have won an award for those!

My favorite story to tell is about our nighttime farm raid... or the car racing up and down hills... it's a close call.

Trina, I hope the first week went by fast an hopefully not to difficult. I keep wondering if there is anything you may want or need that we could do for you. I've been out last week (teddy) bear shopping for Mary Louise, she is expecting in August. I've actually become fairly good at this grandfather to be thing. It's really quite enjoyable.

Mary Louise will be a wonderful Mom and you a perfect grandpa! I was so happy to hear the good news of Mary having a baby! I have a feeling the little baby will be surrounded by presents from grandpa - nothing wrong with a little spoiling :)

Tron you are simply amazing (putting up with Ross and all!) The Machurick family sends our prayers to you each and every day especially on this special day of Ash Wednesday. It was really nice to see you this weekend and we wished we could have stayed longer. I'm sure you'll be home soon and we can't wait to get you back to Little Chute. "Rock Cancer" this summer will have a whole new meaning for all of us.

Hi Katrina! It's good to see that you're doing well and keeping...not...bored (that makes sense in my head). Luckily if you DO get bored you can have Ross play his guitar and sing to you.
